LPN - Emergency Department | Level I Trauma Center
Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is hiring full-time Licensed Practical Nurses for our Emergency Department, home to Hampton Roads' only Level I Trauma Center. This is an opportunity to join a high-performing emergency nursing team where clinical skill, teamwork, and purpose come together to make an immediate impact for patients and families across the region.
*Qualified candidates may be eligible for up to an 8,000 sign-on bonus*
Location: Sentara Norfolk General Hospital - Norfolk, VA
Position Status: Full-time, 36 hours per week
Shift: Night shift, 7:00 pm - 7:00 am
Weekends: Every other weekend availability required
Holiday Rotation: Required

As part of a Level I Trauma Center, you will work alongside experienced emergency medicine providers, specialists, and interdisciplinary teams to deliver timely, high-quality care when patients need it most. Nurses in this department gain exposure to complex emergency, trauma, cardiac, stroke, critical care, and specialty cases while building advanced clinical skills in a collaborative environment.
Sentara Norfolk General Emergency Department has been recognized with the Emergency Nurses Association Lantern Award, honoring exceptional and innovative leadership, practice, education, advocacy, and research.
Education Requirements
  • Degree or diploma in Licensed Practical Nursing required

Certification/Licensure Requirements
  • LPN license required

Experience Requirements
  • Prior LPN experience preferred
  • Emergency Department experience preferred
  • Strong candidates with related acute care, critical care, intermediate care, trauma, cardiac, stroke, or med/surg experience are encouraged to apply
