Local 669 Sprinkler Fitter

Work Description

As a Service Sprinkler Fitter, you'll inspect, maintain, and repair fire protection systems in both existing facilities and retrofit projects, ensuring systems remain fully operational and code compliant.

Job Responsibilities

  • Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair fire sprinkler systems
  • Perform repairs to existing sprinkler systems, assessing impairments, and determining corrective actions
  • Interpret and follow sprinkler system blueprints; recommend adjustments for site-specific needs
  • Fit and fabricate pipes on-site when required
  • Operate hand, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic tools safely and effectively
  • Collaborate with crew members and foreman; occasionally work independently
  • Train and mentor assigned apprentices
  • Plan ahead for labor and materials to keep projects on schedule
  • Maintain communication with superintendent and office staff
  • Ensure compliance with fire codes, safety standards, and company policies
  • Safely drive company vehicles (must meet driving record standards)

Job Qualifications

  • Journeyman Sprinkler Fitter license (Local 669)
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
  • Ability to pass drug screening, background check, and driving record review
  • Strong problem-solving, critical-thinking, and communication skills
  • Physical ability to climb ladders, lift equipment, and wear PPE
  • Organized and able to work in fast-paced environments
  • Willingness to travel and work overtime as needed
  • Proficient in using phones, tablets, and other technology-based systems
  • Commitment to safety and continuous learning
