The Laundry Department at Union Health is looking for team members for the Terre Haute campus. Laundry Attendant Essential Job Duties:
1.    Understands and is able to perform all Linen Distribution duties when necessary (i.e., Soiled Linen Pickup, Clean Linen Delivery, Shared Service Pickup and Delivery.
2.    When working as soiled linen sorter or washman, employee understands and fulfills the following work functions:
       a.    Collects soiled linen from linen chutes and pick-up points in a timely manner and sorts soiled linen properly.
       b.    Weights and records linen weights accurately.
       c.    Inspects linen for foreign objects.
       d.    Keeps work areas and equipment in neat, clean, and orderly condition (i.e., sweeps and mops floors, washes walls, takes out trash).

       e.    Reports malfunctions to supervisor immediately.
       f.    Laundry attendants wear proper personal protective equipment during the work cycle.
       g.    Understands and operates machinery and microprocessor which operates machinery.
       h.    Understands laundry chemical use and their effects in the wash cycle as well as the liquid injection system. Monitors system for proper operations.
       i.    Keeps soiled linen and carts separate from clean linen and carts.
       j.    Understands linen rewash procedures.
      k.    Keeps drain screens clear.
       l.    Performs any other task which may be assigned.
      m.    Unloads and reloads machines in a timely manner.
       n.    Shows ability to organize work load and supplies a steady flow of clean linen to laundry processors.
       o.    Exhibits dependability, punctuality, attendance, and scheduling flexibility.
       p.    Performs all duties in a consistently safe manner.
       q.    When working as clean linen distributor, the employee.
       r.    Delivers linen to assigned areas of facility and returns empty carts.

3.    Designated drivers deliver linen to assigned areas off the facility premises and returns empty carts.    

Education, Training & Experience

1.    Good grasp of written and verbal English and accomplished basic math skills.
2.    Ability to follow instructions.
3.    Flexible in schedule to meet demands of the department.
4.    Basic computer familiarity.
5.    Basic telephone skills.
6.    Ability to maneuver large awkward carts.
7.    Designated driver must have CDL
