Campus Location: Main Campus
General Summary
The Psychology Department at Eastern Michigan University seeks a full-time lecturer to teach both undergraduate and graduate level courses in an open area of specialization. The full-time lecturer position is an eight-month, non-tenure track contract with possible subsequent year appointments.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Teach a contractual (15 contact hours per semester) load of courses, both undergraduate and graduate, as assigned by the department.
Assign and submit grades in accordance with established University schedules.
Create and maintain syllabi in accordance with established University standards.
Keep posted office hours during the week that are scheduled at times most beneficial to students.
Keep lecture course content up-to-date.
Confer periodically with the Department Head and applicable coordinators and faculty on curriculum, instruction, and assessment issues.
Perform other related departmental duties as contractually required.
Minimum Qualifications:
Hold an M.S. or a Ph.D. in Psychology or a closely related field.
Have a minimum of four years of university teaching experience.
Have a history of successfully working with diverse student populations.
