Job description

???? QUALITY ASSURANCE TECH AND WELDING TRAINER ????
Company: Austin Engineering
Full-Time | Career Growth | Leadership Track
STOP JUST WELDING — START LEADING.

Austin is hiring elite welders who are ready to step up.

If you’re the person others come to for help…
If you take pride in perfect welds…
If you’re ready to move into leadership, training, and quality

This is your next move.

???? WHY THIS ROLE STANDS OUT
  • Top performers only — work with the best
  • Path to AWS CWI (we help you get there)
  • Hands-on leadership — train and mentor welders
  • Cross into Quality (QA exposure)
  • Serious shop, serious standards, serious opportunity

???? WHAT YOU’LL DO
  • Train and mentor welders to meet Austin Welding Standards
  • Weld in ALL positions (FCAW, GMAW-P, and more)
  • Fabricate heavy-duty equipment: truck bodies, buckets, tanks, reels
  • Read prints and execute precision fit-ups and welds
  • Identify bad welds and fix them right (CAC-A, grinding, rework)
  • Step in with QA when needed to maintain top-tier quality
  • Operate cranes, hoists, and shop equipment safely and efficiently

???? WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
  • Strong MIG/FCAW welding experience
  • Can pass a hands-on weld test (this matters)
  • Knows prints, symbols, and fabrication processes
  • Takes pride in clean, high-quality work
  • Natural leader — or ready to become one
  • Shows up, works hard, and holds the line on standards

???? NOT YOUR AVERAGE WELDING JOB

This is for welders who:

  • Are tired of being “just another guy in the booth”
  • Want more responsibility and respect
  • Want to build others up while leveling up themselves
  • Are ready for long-term growth, not just a paycheck

???? THE WORK
  • Heavy fabrication shop (real work, not light gauge)
  • Lifting, climbing, welding at heights up to 30 ft
  • Indoor shop with real-world conditions (hot summers, cold winters)
  • Fast-paced, team-driven environment

???? SAFETY & EQUIPMENT

We take safety seriously. Full PPE required and supported:

  • Steel-toe boots, eye protection, welding hood, leathers, respirators as needed
  • Equipment includes MIG welders, air arc, cranes, hoists, and more

???? GROWTH PATH
  • Welding Mentor → Lead → QA / CWI Track
  • We invest in people who perform

⚠️ REAL TALK

This isn’t for everyone.

If you cut corners, avoid responsibility, or don’t take pride in your work—this won’t be a fit.

But if you’re driven, skilled, and ready to step up…

You’ll thrive here.
