Job description

We're looking for a full time YouTube video editor to join our remote team.

This is a production role, not an agency where every client wants something completely different.

We've built clear editing frameworks, templates, and workflows so you can spend your time making videos better, not reinventing the process every day.

If you are experienced inAdobe Premier Pro, and you enjoy working with templates, improving your speed over time, and getting into a rhythm where the work becomes clean and repeatable, you'll do very well here.

If you're looking for full creative freedom on every video, fast cuts, constant motion graphics, and attention grabbing effects, this probably isn't the right fit. Our editing style is clean, intentional, and built around helping the speaker shine.

ROLE

As a Video Editor, your primary role is to edit and optimize long-form and short-form video content for our clients' YouTube channels.

This includes transforming raw footage (Zoom recordings, talking-head videos, podcasts, webinars, screen shares) into polished, engaging YouTube videos and supporting clips that reflect each client's brand, voice, and goals.

You will work closely with our internal team to ensure videos are edited accurately, on-brand, and delivered on time.
Brand guidelines, references, and direction will be provided and templatized across all edits, which will help you with speed and quality of execution. You are expected to bring strong editorial judgment, storytelling instincts, and attention to detail to every project.

This is a contractor position, with fixed compensation of $2,000 USD per month.

This is not just a technical editing role. You are helping our clients show up professionally, build authority, and grow their audience on YouTube.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Edit long-form YouTube videos (approx 20 minutes) from raw footage into clear, engaging, professional final cuts
  • Remove filler, tighten pacing, and enhance clarity while preserving the client's voice and message
  • Add on-screen text, light motion graphics, b-roll, screen recordings, and music where appropriate
  • Create short clips from long-form videos for YouTube Shorts and other platforms when requested
  • Ensure correct formatting, resolution, audio levels, captions, and thumbnails (when applicable)
  • Follow client-specific brand guidelines, templates, and stylistic preferences
  • Implement feedback accurately and efficiently with minimal revisions
  • Manage multiple client projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines
  • Communicate clearly with the internal team regarding timelines, capacity, and priorities (our Social Media Manager will be the liaison who communicates directly to clients)
  • Flag issues proactively (missing files, unclear direction, unrealistic timelines)
  • Maintain organized project files and workflows using shared tools

Your role isn't just to edit - it's to make our clients look credible, confident, and worth listening to.

RESULTS

  • Client YouTube videos are delivered on time and meet quality standards
  • Editing time averages approx 5 hours per Long Form Video (with shorts)
  • Videos are clean, well-paced, and easy to follow
  • Each video reflects the client's tone, brand, and positioning
  • Revisions become increasingly rare as systems are learned
  • Communication is clear, professional, and reliable
  • You can estimate turnaround times accurately and flag overload early
  • Clients consistently receive polished, engaging videos that strengthen their authority

REQUIREMENTS

  • Excellent written & spoken English communication skills (English does not need to be your first language, but clarity and professionalism are essential)
  • 2+ years of experience editing video content (YouTube experience strongly preferred)
  • Strong storytelling and pacing instincts
  • High attention to detail - audio, visuals, captions, formatting
  • Ability to follow processes, templates, and brand standards consistently
  • Comfortable working with repetitive workflows across multiple clients
  • Organized, reliable, and deadline-driven
  • The secret code is HP2026
  • Able to receive and apply feedback without defensiveness
  • Able to manage multiple projects without deadlines slipping.

  • Strong aesthetic judgment and restraint (knowing when not to over-edit)
  • Working knowledge of tools such as:
    • Adobe Premiere Pro
    • Slack
    • Google Drive / Dropbox
  • Understanding of how music, pacing, and visuals influence viewer emotion and retention
