Host, Full Time

Rate of Pay: $21.71/hour

Opportunity Awaits on the beautiful Island of Hawaii... King Kamehameha Kona Beach Resort Courtyard by Marriott currently has an opening for a talented Full Time Host.

Brief Summary of Job: Greet and acknowledge all arriving guests. Escort guests to tables. Take reservations and maintain reservation book.

 Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the job include but are not limited to:

____ Maintain a friendly, cheerful and courteous demeanor at all times, while providing personalized service to guests.

____ Communicate effectively with guests and fellow team members.

____ Cheerfully and courteously greet and escort guests to tables and assist in seating at tables; present menus and extend congenialities ensuring restaurant’s standards of service.

____ Take, record and confirm restaurant reservations/cancellation as specified in departmental standards.

____ Assist in preparing the restaurant for service and maintaining the cleanliness of the dining room at all times.

____ Assist in monitoring the guests’ needs and all phases of the restaurant operations.

____ Oversee all aspects of restaurant during absence of Restaurant Manager and/or Supervisor.

____ Maintain complete knowledge of all menu items, specials, liquor/beer/non-alcoholic selections available in the restaurant.

____ Maintain good guest relations by keeping abreast of all in-house and area functions in order to answer questions and concerns with timely and knowledgeable responses.

____ Inspect tables and stations ensuring that all set ups meet the department standards. Check throughout meal period. Relay deficiencies to respective team members and follow up on corrections.

____ Answer restaurant telephone courteously and efficiently as specified in department standards.

____ Extend courteous departures as guests leave the restaurant.

____ Ensure tables are cleaned and reset according to standards.

____ Report any missing/found articles or equipment/property damage to the Housekeeping Supervisor.

____ Provide assistance to other team members and departments to contribute to the best overall performance of the department, restaurant and hotel.

____ Perform other duties as assigned, requested or deemed necessary by management.

Management retains the discretion to add or change the duties of the position at any time.

 

Qualifications:

 Knowledge/Education/Experience: Previous one (1) year experience preferred. Restaurant service experience desirable. High school or equivalent education. TB clearance card required.

Skills/Abilities/Other Requirements: Must be able to communicate in English with guests, management and team members to their understanding. Ability to prioritize, organize and make good judgments. Dependable.
