What you will do

At Johnson Controls, you will help protect people, property, and operations with trusted fire detection solutions. In this role, you will represent the Autocall Fire Detection brand in the New York market, build strong partner relationships, and contribute to a collaborative, inclusive team environment.

You will work with existing Autocall certified partners while also recruiting new partners into the Autocall family. With support from sales leadership, onboarding, product training, and ongoing coaching, you will have the resources needed to grow your territory and advance your career.

This is a territory-focused sales role centered on channel growth, partner enablement, and market development. You will support channel partners, consulting engineers, and end users by promoting Autocall Fire Detection solutions and helping partners succeed in estimating, installing, programming, and commissioning projects.

How you will do it

  • Represent the Autocall Fire Detection distribution channel across the New York markets.
  • Develop partnerships with existing Autocall certified partners and recruit new partners to expand market share.
  • Create and execute an annual sales plan aligned with company growth strategy and territory objectives.
  • Provide sales expertise, tools, equipment, and resources to help Channel Partners exceed target sales volume goals.
  • Promote product knowledge to Channel Partners, MEP Firms, and End User customers.
  • Collaborate with Field Sales Engineers and Business Development Managers to support opportunities and strengthen customer relationships.
  • Maintain awareness of the marketplace, competitor offerings, fire and life safety codes, and product trends.
  • Attend industry networking events and participate in professional organizations, including NFPA, ASHE, NBFAA, AFAA, AGC, ABC, NEMA, and NECA.
  • Own the territory plan with accountability, integrity, and a focus on customer outcomes, while staying aligned to revenue and growth goals.
  • Stay close to the work and remove obstacles for partnersby providing practical support, timely follow-up, and the right resources to move projects forward.
  • Improve every day through candor, coaching, and problem-solvingby using market feedback, sales activity, and partner input to refine your approach.
  • Win as one teamby working closely with internal sales leaders, Field Sales Engineers, Business Development Managers, and channel partners.
  • Use product knowledge, market insight, and consultative selling to strengthen partner performance and territory results.
  • Build trust through consistent communication, professional presence, and responsive support for partner and customer needs.
  • Leverage the onboarding, training, and leadership coaching available to you to continue building your sales expertise.

What we look for

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Engineering, or Marketing or equivalent Sales/PM experience.
  • Three to five years of successful outside sales and presentation experience.
  • Experience working with consulting engineers within the Fire Detection Industry.
  • Reside within the territory.
  • Travel 40% of the time

Preferred

  • Experience with Johnson Controls fire detection products.
  • Channel Sales Experience.
  • Demonstrated skill and experience with Microsoft Office and sales tracking software (Salesforce).

Salary Range: HIRING SALARY RANGE: $87,000 to 136,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.) This role also offers a competitive Sales Incentive Plan that will take into account volume and margin on a project, quarterly, and annual basis. This position includes a competitive benefits package. The posted salary range reflects the target compensation for this role.
