YOUR MISSION (The Job Description):
The Casino Security Officer is a full-time position and will play an important role in providing safety and preventing loss throughout the hotel and casino. Staying vigilant and ready to support guest and employees with an assortment of needs, Security Officers are an integral part of actively and responsibly maintaining order on the property of Virgin Hotel and Casino around the clock.
THE NITTY-GRITTY (The Essential Job Duties) Including but not limited to:
  • Assist sick or injured patrons and employees; perform CPR as necessary
  • Assist Games and Slots department in removing drop boxes
  • Attend all safety/first aid training classes
  • Report unsafe or hazardous conditions
  • Assist patrons and employees on directions and proper procedures
  • Check identification of all persons that appear to be under 21 years of age
  • Compose accident/incident reports and witness statements when necessary
  • Operate company vehicles in a safe manner
  • Perform fills, credits, exchanges, and marker transfers procedures for departments as needed
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds
  • Must be physically present at work, in assigned workstation to perform all functions required of the position
  • perform all other duties assigned by Management

REGULATORY AND COMPLIANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Attend required training sessions offered by the JC Hospitality
  • Perform the duties described in compliance with local laws and regulations
  • Take the necessary steps to ensure minors are not allowed to gamble or loiter in gambling areas, drink alcoholic beverages, or purchase tobacco
  • Have knowledge of the ordinances, regulations, laws, policies, and procedures relating to the employee's department
  • Consult Internal Control Procedures and Policy Manuals for guidance
  • Report illegal activity to Security or the appropriate levels of Management
  • Lift, push and pull drop boxes and money carts, and be able to assist sick or injured customers and employees

MUST HAVE'S
  • Current, legal, and unrestricted ability to work in the United States
  • Ability to obtain/maintain a license through the GCB to work in a gaming establishment
  • High school diploma or an equivalent
  • Identify and quickly respond to potential problems and conflicts and defend self and others in combative situations
  • Must have effective communication skills
  • Must be bondable with no felony convictions
  • Must have valid Nevada driver license
  • Must be able to write clear, accurate and concise reports
  • CPR Certificate and blood borne pathogen training required

WOULD BE NICE TO HAVE'S
  • 1-2 year of security officer experience
  • Knowledge of Hotel Industry security

THE WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Prolonged periods standing and walking
  • Possible exposure to potential infectious materials
  • Exposure to varying weather conditions
  • Heavy lifting on occasion
  • Frequent bending, stooping, and reaching, sometimes in confined spaces
  • Able to lift 50 pounds
  • Able to push 100 pounds
  • Operate in a working environment that is subject to varying levels of cold, heat, sound, crowds, smoke, light (including flashing lights), and vibration
  • You may come into contact with pet hair/dander
  • This position sometimes works outside and is subject to all weather conditions. Proper clothing is provided
