What is a full time IV hydration nurse?

A Full Time IV Hydration Nurse is a licensed nurse, typically a Registered Nurse (RN), who specializes in administering intravenous (IV) fluids, vitamins, and medications to patients for hydration and wellness purposes. These nurses work in clinics, spas, or medical offices and are responsible for assessing patients, starting IV lines, monitoring therapy, and ensuring patient safety throughout the procedure. In addition to clinical skills, they provide education to clients about the benefits and risks of IV therapy and may assist with other wellness services depending on the facility.

What are some common challenges full time IV hydration nurses face, and how can they be addressed?

Full Time IV Hydration Nurses often encounter challenges such as managing a high volume of clients, ensuring strict adherence to sterile techniques, and handling varying patient reactions to IV therapy. Time management and attention to detail are crucial, as nurses must monitor patients for adverse reactions and document each session accurately. Building strong communication skills helps in educating clients about the process and addressing anxieties. Continuous training and collaboration with other healthcare professionals can also help nurses stay current with best practices and improve patient outcomes.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a full time IV hydration nurse, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Full Time IV Hydration Nurse, you need strong venipuncture skills, a current nursing license (RN or LPN), and a solid understanding of IV therapy protocols. Familiarity with infusion pumps, electronic health record (EHR) systems, and up-to-date BLS/CPR certifications are typically required. Exceptional interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to reassure and educate patients help set top performers apart. These competencies are crucial for ensuring safe, efficient, and comfortable IV therapy experiences for clients in clinical or mobile settings.

Job description

Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP): NPOC Wellness and Aesthetics
Location: 3989 Boston Street, Baltimore, MD 21224 (New Location)
Openings: 2
Employment Type: Full-time
Reports To: Medical Director
About NPOC Wellness and Aesthetics
NPOC Wellness and Aesthetics is a nurse practitioner-owned medspa and wellness practice built for people who want real results delivered by real clinicians, not just estheticians running a menu. We're opening a brand-new Baltimore location and looking for two Family Nurse Practitioners to help us bring premium, clinically credentialed care to a growing patient base. If you want to practice at the top of your license, work with modern equipment, and be part of a fast-growing brand from day one, this is the seat.
Position Overview
We're hiring two Family Nurse Practitioners for our new Baltimore location to deliver our full aesthetics and wellness service menu, including injectables, laser treatments, body contouring, IV hydration, and medical weight loss. This is a hands-on clinical role for someone who wants variety, autonomy, and the chance to grow into a flagship location.
What You'll Do
- Perform patient consultations, assessments, and individualized treatment planning across our aesthetics and wellness service lines
- Administer neuromodulators (Botox, Xeomin) and dermal fillers, including biostimulators such as Radiesse and Sculptra, within your scope of practice
- Perform laser hair removal and laser skin treatments using our GentleMax Pro-U platform
- Provide body contouring treatments
- Administer IV hydration therapy
- Manage our GLP-1 medical weight loss program, including patient evaluation, dosing, and follow-up
- Perform microneedling and other in-demand skin treatments as our service menu expands
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and informed consent for every treatment
- Practice in full compliance with Maryland Board of Nursing scope-of-practice requirements and COMAR regulations
- Build strong patient relationships that support retention and referrals
Required Qualifications
- Active, unrestricted Maryland APRN license with Family Nurse Practitioner certification (FNP-C or FNP-BC)
- Current national certification in good standing
- Current BLS certification
- Ability to obtain and maintain any credentialing required for injectable and laser services
- Strong communication skills and comfort discussing aesthetic and wellness goals with patients
- Reliable, in-person presence at the Baltimore location as required under Maryland supervision regulations
Preferred Qualifications (Not Required)
- Prior experience in aesthetics, medspa, or cosmetic injectables
- Laser certification or hands-on laser device experience
- Experience with dermal fillers, neuromodulators, or biostimulators
- Experience with medical weight loss (GLP-1) protocols
- Experience with IV hydration therapy
We're happy to train the right candidate on our full injectable, laser, and IV protocols. Clinical judgment, patient care instincts, and coachability matter more to us than years on paper.
What We Offer
- Competitive compensation: $60-$75/hr plus commission
- Full training on our injectable, biostimulator, laser, and IV hydration protocols
- Modern equipment, including GentleMax Pro-U laser platforms
- Ground-floor opportunity at a new flagship location within a growing multi-location practice
- Supportive clinical and administrative team
- Benefits: health insurance, PTO, CE allowance, employee service benefit, etc.
How to Apply
Submit your resume and current Maryland APRN license through BambooHR, or contact HR: analexandra@nponcalltms.com. Please include your FNP certification and any aesthetics, injectable, or laser experience in your application.
NPOC Wellness and Aesthetics is an equal opportunity employer.
