The Inventory Control Manager is responsible for ensuring compliance with the region's hardgoods inventory policies and procedures. This position will champion accurate and timely inventory management and reporting. A high level of coordination with divisional and regional teams is required in order to contribute to regional financial health, monitor operational controls, maintain timelines for inventory cycle counts and perform variance analyses and reporting. Ideally, you are a knowledgeable inventory contributor who is technically proficient, possesses excellent analytical skills, demonstrates inclusive leadership and is experienced in advancing systems and processes.

Job Duties:
  • Partner with the region in developing and bringing to life inventory strategy including stocking levels and branding.

  • Develop and bring to life required process changes and proactive adjustments to minimize and navigate inventory variances, including new SOPs or other Company policies and procedures.

  • Empowers, nurtures growth for, and guides the Inventory Control Specialist.

  • Work with branches to support "bolt-on" programs/other inventory promotions, new product or other vendor/Radnor sponsored inventory programs.

  • Work with branches to improve Hardgoods Day Supply (HDS), slow moving /obsolete inventory stock and inventory reserve expense.

  • Provide branch-based reporting to measure inventory turns, inactive inventory, adjustments and other relevant metrics.

  • Support branches in ensuring that inventory levels are properly managed, accurate, and compliant in accordance with Airgas Operating Standards (AOS).

  • Coordinate and support hardgoods cycle counts at the plants and branches.

  • Review and approve inventory adjustments as a result of variances to physical counts compared to the perpetual inventory records in accordance with defined variance thresholds; collaborate with plant and branch personnel to determine the underlying factors of inventory variances.

  • Support Accounts Payable and Corporate Purchasing by exploring and correcting problems with invoices.

  • Provide branch-based reporting to measure inventory turns, inactive inventory, adjustments and other relevant metrics.

  • Support the Field in establishing appropriate levels and set-up for Corporate purchasing systems, including freezes/guarantees and Min/Max stocking levels to help ensure dynamic deployment and other automated inventory management systems are performing effectively.

  • Collaborate in the validation and verification of inventories related to acquisitions.

  • Commitment to working safely and not allowing unsafe conditions or practices to exist.

  • Respond to field inquiries related to above functions and other departmental operations.

  • Frequent travel within the region and occasional overnight travel may be required.

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Science or related degree field required. In lieu of degree, consideration for up to 4 years of additional related experience may be considered.

  • 3+ years of inventory management experience.

  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively design, recommend and implement practices, processes and procedures with a high attention to detail.

  • Exceptional organization & time management skills with ability to use time efficiently handling multiple demands, supporting multiple people and competing priorities effectively.

  • Ability to deal with difficult situations in a diplomatic and professional manner.

  • Candidates must have valid employment authorization in the U.S. and must not require visa sponsorship now or in the future. This position is not open for non-immigrant visa sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior inventory analysis experience preferred.

  • Prior experience in the welding industry in an inventory or analytical position preferred.

  • Strong demonstrated proficiency in Google Office as well and Power Bi preferred.

  • Demonstrated working knowledge of SAP and Business Warehouse (BW) preferred.
