Position Description
Tour guides will play a crucial role in the recruitment of new undergraduate students and serve as the public "face of the university" for those visiting Bridgewater State University.
Tour guides will be student ambassadors of the university who lead prospective students, families, and school/community groups on walking tours of campus. They will staff the daily tours, group visits, special tours, and major admission events.
Extensive ongoing training will be provided in social skills, public speaking, and all aspects of our university.
Shifts are two hours long and available Monday through Friday from 9:30 am - 11:30 am or 2:30 pm - 4:30 pm, with occasional weekend events and options to work holidays tours.
Eligibility requirements:
Must be a Bridgewater State University undergraduate student registered for a minimum of six credits for the Fall 2026 semester.
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred qualifications for candidates are as follows:
  • Full-time student at BSU
  • Passion for promoting BSU
  • Physical ability to traverse campus while talking
  • Ability to work equally well independently and in groups
  • Eagerness to share their experiences as a prospective & current student
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Instinctual curiosity about other people and good listening skills
  • Friendly, outgoing personality, and willingness to talk with strangers
  • Must be highly reliable and able to attend all assigned shifts

Physical Demands
Successful candidates must be able to move throughout campus and university buildings for one to two hours at a time, with longer periods during major events.
