Do you take pride in operating industrial machines, fabricating metal components, and keeping equipment running at peak performance? Ingalls Shipbuilding is seeking skilled Fab Shop Mechanics and Machine Operators who want to bring their mechanical ability and fabrication experience to America's Shipyard.
As a Fab Shop Mechanic / Machine Operator, you'll support the machining and fabrication of critical metal components used throughout the construction of the U.S. Navy's most advanced vessels. From operating heavy machinery to performing equipment maintenance, your work directly contributes to the quality, accuracy, and reliability of shipbuilding operations.

What You Can Earn
Earn $35.99 per hour

What You'll Do
• Operate fabrication shop machinery such as presses, shears, rollers, saws, grinders, and other metalforming equipment
• Perform mechanical maintenance and basic troubleshooting on shop equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation
• Fabricate, cut, shape, and prepare metal components according to specifications, drawings, and blueprints
• Verify measurements, maintain accuracy, and inspect completed work for quality standards
• Support production needs in an industrial environment with varying tasks and priorities
• Work in shop and shipyard environments that may include noise, heat, and active machining areas
