Senior Counsel - Corporate & Transactional
Legal & Compliance Department
Position Summary:
The Senior Legal Counsel - Corporate & Transactional provides business-minded guidance, strategic legal counsel, and risk mitigation implementation across the business.
Outline of Duties:
  • Provide day-to-day support and legal guidance to internal business stakeholders.
  • Support multiple internal business teams, including procurement, human resources, IT, and manufacturing by analyzing, drafting, interpreting, and negotiating agreements, of various types, including supply; logistics; service; technology and software licensing; and professional services.
  • Collaborate with internal clients to establish and implement practical form agreements that protect key company interests. Monitor emerging legal issues and ensure updated agreements as necessary and appropriate.
  • Provide counsel on a variety of legal issues, through research, or with support from specialized outside counsel as appropriate, for areas such as tax, customs, IP, environmental, and other emerging legal issues.
  • Identify legal and compliance risks and guide internal clients regarding legal compliance and strategies to minimize company risk.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Doctor of Jurisprudence from an ABA-accredited law school and licensed to practice law in the State of Indiana
  • 4 years of relevant legal work experience with demonstrated leadership characteristics.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills
  • Ability to adapt to the needs of the organization and employees.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
