Registered Nurse (RN) – Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU)

Employment Type: Full-Time

Shift: Days | 3 x 12-Hour Shifts

Location: Great Falls, Montana

Position Summary

A premier regional healthcare system is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join its Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU). This position offers the opportunity to care for critically ill cardiovascular and surgical patients using advanced technology while working alongside a highly skilled multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver specialized nursing care to critically ill cardiovascular, medical, and surgical patients.
  • Monitor patients requiring advanced hemodynamic monitoring and life-support therapies.
  • Manage ventilators, central lines, arterial lines, CRRT, multiple IV infusions, and advanced cardiac monitoring equipment.
  • Care for patients utilizing Impella devices and intra-aortic balloon pumps (IABP).
  • Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to develop individualized care plans.
  • Mentor and support fellow nurses and clinical staff.
  • Maintain timely and accurate electronic documentation.
  • Promote safe, evidence-based patient care throughout hospitalization.

Qualifications

Required

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN required; BSN preferred)
  • Active Montana RN license (or eligibility)
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications
  • PALS certification within six months of hire
  • Recent ICU or Critical Care experience caring for cardiovascular surgery patients
  • Strong critical thinking and communication skills

Preferred

  • 1–2 years of dedicated CVICU or Cardiac Surgical ICU experience
  • Experience with Impella devices, IABP, and CRRT
  • EPNC and TNCC certifications

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: $115,000–$130,000 annually
  • $25,000 Retention Bonus (external candidates)
