We are seeking a Ministry Pilot to join our Mission Aviation Services team in Greensboro, NC. Through humanitarian work, the goal and purpose of Samaritan's Purse are to help people in Jesus' name and share the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
In the role of Ministry Pilot, you will have the opportunity to:
  • Maintain a personal, active relationship with Jesus Christ and be a consistent witness for Jesus Christ.
  • Perform Pilot in Command (PIC) and/or Second in Command (SIC) duties as assigned in Samaritan's Purse 767 ministry aircraft, supporting safe and effective flight operations.
  • Plan and execute domestic and complex international trips, utilizing an international trip planning service as needed, and completing all required pre-flight, in-flight, and post-flight procedures.
  • Maintain expert knowledge of the assigned aircraft, the Approved Flight Manual (AFM), aviation regulations, and Samaritan's Purse policies and procedures to ensure operational readiness and professional proficiency.
  • Maintain accurate and timely flight records and ensure electronic charts, databases, iPads, and other required flight documents and resources remain current and organized.
  • Partner with Samaritan's Purse mechanics and contracted maintenance personnel to identify and communicate aircraft maintenance discrepancies and support their resolution.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What are the qualifications?
Serve with Excellence
As a qualified candidate, you will have the following skills and experience:
  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university, 5-10 years of related experience and/or training.
  • Minimum 5,000 total flight hours, including at least 1,000 hours in B757/B767 series aircraft, with current or recent experience in type and recent international B757/B767 flight experience.
  • Current B757/B767 type rating and FAA Airline Transport Pilot Certificate with appropriate AMEL rating required; must maintain all required type ratings and currency in assigned ministry aircraft.
  • Valid FAA First Class Aviation Medical Certificate, FCC Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit, and current U.S. Passport required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, and Excel) and general computer applications required.
  • 12 credit hours of college-level Biblical Studies required; if not already completed, an opportunity to fulfill this requirement is available upon hire.
