What is the opportunity?

We are seeking a Ministry Pilot to join our Mission Aviation Services team in North Wilkesboro, NC. Through humanitarian work, the goal and purpose of Samaritan's Purse are to help people in Jesus' name and share the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
In the role of Ministry Pilot, you will have the opportunity to:
  • Maintain a personal, active relationship with Jesus Christ and is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ.
  • Conduct domestic and international flights in accordance with FARs, Samaritan's Purse policies and procedures, and applicable Aircraft Flight Manuals, maintaining the highest standards of safety, readiness, and professional proficiency.
  • Plan and execute domestic and international flights with the assistance of a trip planning service, completing all required pre-flight, in-flight, and post-flight procedures.
  • Serve as a pilot on international and domestic aviation disaster response deployments, supporting the safe and efficient transportation of personnel, passengers, luggage, and cargo.
  • Complete required flight documentation, including flight logs and passenger manifests, and maintain current and orderly electronic charts, databases, iPads, and other flight-related documents and resources.
  • Complete assigned training activities, coursework, and proficiency requirements, and maintain the aircraft in a clean, organized, and mission-ready condition at home and while deployed.
  • Other duties as assigned

What are the qualifications?
Serve with Excellence
As a qualified candidate, you will have the following skills and experience:
  • Four-year college or university program certificate; and seven (7) to 10 (10) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 3,000 total flight hours required; 500 hours in Bell helicopters strongly preferred.
  • Current FAA First Class Medical Certificate required.
  • FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate required.
  • FCC Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit required.
  • 12 credit hours of college-level Biblical Studies (required); if not already completed, opportunity to meet and complete requirement is available upon hire.

Language Requirement: Fluency in English (required)
Travel: This position requires domestic/international travel of approximately 90 days/year. Maintaining required travel documents and vaccinations for entry into foreign countries will be necessary.
