The Game Artist plays a key role in ensuring visual assets are production-ready, technically optimized, and aligned with artistic direction. Applying their expertise, the Game Artist contributes to all visual aspects of projects and games, including:

• Character design, poses, expressions, and illustrations (realistic or stylized)

• Environments, backgrounds, matte paintings, and textures

• UI elements, symbols, logos, menus, and other game assets

• Mock-ups, visual explorations, and concept development

• Promotional and presentation artwork

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience creating 2D game art with a portfolio demonstrating a range of artistic styles and production-quality work

• Strong working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Creative Cloud applications

• Ability to create polished game-ready assets from concept through final production

• Strong drawing, sketching, and illustration skills for ideation and concept development

• Solid understanding of anatomy, color theory, composition, perspective, lighting, and visual storytelling

• Ability to visually communicate concepts and ideas through sketches, mock-ups, and finished artwork

• Hands-on knowledge of asset optimization techniques for HTML5 and online game delivery

• Working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator

• Familiarity with Adobe Firefly and Adobe Photoshop AI-assisted workflows

• Good understanding of game development pipelines and production processes

• Ability to work effectively with artists, designers, developers, and production teams

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and consistently meet production deadlines

• Technical aptitude and awareness of production constraints and implementation requirements

• Capable of quickly learning new software and maintaining current industry knowledge

• Knowledge of common collaboration tools such as Microsoft Office and Slack

• Bilingual: International business communications are primarily in English, but French fluency would be an asset

Assets

• Familiarity with 3D tools

• Professional experience in the casino gaming industry

• Experience creating art for mobile, online, or social gaming products

• Familiarity with game engines such as Unity or Unreal

• Working knowledge of AI-powered creative tools and workflows (Adobe Firefly, Layer.ai, Copilot, etc.)

• Experience contributing to visual style development or concept exploration
