Job description

PathGroup is seeking an experienced AP/CP Board-Certified Pathologist at our partner hospital in Fort Wayne, Indiana. This full-time opportunity offers a blend of clinical diagnostic responsibilities and laboratory operational oversight, providing a visible role in hospital leadership and ongoing quality initiatives.

The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for advancing laboratory excellence and clinical collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory agencies (CAP, CLIA, Joint Commission)
  • Provide clinical oversight for transfusion services, hematology, microbiology, chemistry
  • Sign-out of general surgical pathology and cytopathology cases
  • Participate actively in quality improvement, hospital committees, and multidisciplinary case discussions
  • Foster collaboration and communication between laboratory services, clinicians, and hospital leadership

Qualifications:

  • Medical Degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution
  • AP/CP Board Certification required
  • Eligible for Indiana medical license
  • Previous experience in a medical directorship or strong leadership capacity preferred
  • Excellent diagnostic, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Strong commitment to laboratory quality, continuous improvement, and clinical service
