Job description

Montello Care Center is a skilled nursing facility located in Montello, Wisconsin. Montello Care Center is currently seeking to hire a full-time Housekeeping Aide / Laundry Aide to join our team. A Housekeeping Aide / Laundry Aide ensures that Montello Care Center is clean, safe, and comfortable for the residents. The primary purpose is to perform proper housekeeping and laundry responsibilities to our facility in accordance with state, federal and local standards, guidelines, and regulations. This role includes but is not limited to cleaning resident rooms, cleaning carpets, and stocking rooms, and keeping linens clean. If you are compassionate about caring for the elderly and you want to make a difference in someone's life, then you are exactly the person we're looking for.
Montello Care Center is a 50-bed not-for-profit nursing and rehabilitation facility.

The following is the essential functions of the job:
  • Knowledge of housekeeping tasks is preferred.
  • Knowledge of laundry tasks is preferred
  • Must be able to physically waist lift a maximum of 30#, with frequent waist lifting and/or overhead lifting of 20#.
  • Must be able to push and/or pull with a maximum effort of 20#.
  • Must be able to stand or walk 6-8 hours in an 8-hour day.
  • Must be able to frequently bend, squat, and twist body during an 8-hour day.
  • Must be able to attend mandatory in-services and housekeeping / laundry department meetings.
  • Must be willing to work weekends.

Responsibilities:
  • To keep the facility free from dust, dirt, odors and clutter
  • To vacuum carpeted areas daily
  • To sweep and wet mop floors daily; Buff Floors as needed
  • To wet wipe vinyl chairs, over bed tables, bedside stands and windowsills daily
  • To empty wastebaskets, clean bathrooms daily including toilets, sinks and mirrors.
  • Change linens and empty trash
  • Follow safety procedures and guidelines
  • Report any maintenance issues or safety concerns
  • Any and all other duties assigned by supervisor or Administrator in an effort to have a quality housekeeping / laundry department
