Description
Welcome all guests in a friendly and professional manner by providing excellent customer service to those who stay on or off campus throughout the night shift. Provide accurate information regarding activities, policies, and procedures during their stay on campus.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: N/A
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Perform late check-ins and early check-outs by utilizing the hospitality software system.
2. Address guest inquiries, concerns, and requests during the night shift, ensuring that high levels of service are provided.
3. Professionally answer all incoming calls, transfer calls, and take messages, as needed.
4. Maintain knowledge of Silver Bay rates, accommodations, and activities.
5. Provide accurate information to guests, as needed.
6. Learn and maintain knowledge of current hospitality software systems.
7. Perform duties in accordance to the daily night audit checklist.
8. Perform end-of-day procedures and close the day's financial transactions in the hospitality software system.
9. Reconcile cash and check transactions and correct any discrepancies.
10. Balance and recognize credit card transactions through the credit card processing system.
11. Responsible for maintaining and balancing a cash drawer at the end of their shift.
12. Receive, record, and input memberships, programs, and in-house transactions into hospitality software.
13. Responsible for updating and maintaining the Nationwide YMCA Spreadsheet.
14. Maintain knowledge of all property Emergency Procedures and how to respond correctly, should one occur during any scheduled shift. Examples include fire alarms, medical incidents, and safety breaches.
15. Perform sweep of facilities periodically throughout night to ensure safety and security on campus.
16. Perform other duties as assigned by the Guest Service Manager.
17. Must be able to work overnight shifts.
18. As a 24-hour operation all staff may be asked to work weekends, evenings, or night shifts and/or holidays to serve our members, guests, and program participants.
Requirements
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills, organizational skills, multi-tasking, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities are essential.
• Exhibits proficiency and fundamental knowledge of Word and Excel applications.
• Accuracy in handling money and record keeping
• Basic accounting knowledge
• Professional telephone answering, and a basic knowledge of the surrounding area.
• Ability to work independently.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Prolonged periods of standing.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
