Job description

Job Title:

Laundry Aide

Job Summary:

Oneida Health is actively seeking a full-time Laundry Aide to work the day shift in our hospital laundry facility. This position involves routine manual work in processing laundry-related tasks under general supervision. The ideal candidate will be efficient and able to perform tasks thoroughly.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collect, sort, and weigh laundry, linen, and garments, placing them in appropriate containers and/or assigned areas.
  • Follow cleaning policies and procedures to ensure proper washing.
  • Fold, stack, hang, and distribute clean laundry, linen, and garments as necessary.
  • Follow established procedures on cross-contamination and infectious materials to assure the highest degree of cleanliness and sanitation is maintained at all times.
  • Keep the work environment free of hazardous conditions such as spills, excess laundry carts, baskets, supplies, and equipment.
  • Perform other related duties as needed to support a teamwork environment.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (Preferred)

License:

  • Valid NYS Driver's License (Preferred) 

Physical Requirements:

The role involves prolonged periods of standing, lifting, and repetitive motions. It requires attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols.
