Job description

Mid-sized thoroughbred farm looking for a person to join maintenance team.

Regular duties include fence and waterer repair, mowing with 15' rotary cutters, general grounds maintenance such as stick pick up and fallen limb removal.

Will also work on projects either alone or as part of a team.  These may be carpentry or plumbing (structure repair), or possibly light excavation and earth moving.

Key attributes are attention to detail and ability to work safely and diligently with minimal supervision.  Must be able to get to work on time and have good attendance.

Key skills are ability to use hand tools and drive a mid-sized tractor.  Tractor skills can be learned so don't let that stop you.  Other skills such as carpentry, mechanical repair, welding, etc are a bonus and will be considered to determine pay.

Work is in all weather (though we try to stay out of the worst, occasionally you may have to repair a fence in some bad weather).

This is full time (40 hrs per week), typically Monday - Friday 8 -5 though there is some flexibility there.  W-2, over time paid if worked (rare).  You will be working around horses, but not handling them.  No horsemanship skill required.

Company Description

We are a medium sized (275 acres) Thoroughbred breeding farm in central Kentucky. 5 employees, Husband and wife owners who are very involved in the day-to-day running of the farm. We sign the paychecks and drive the tractors!
