What are Full Time Hi Lo Drivers?

Full Time Hi Lo Drivers are professionals who operate Hi Lo forklifts or similar industrial trucks to move materials around warehouses, factories, or construction sites on a full-time basis. Their responsibilities include loading and unloading goods, organizing inventory, and ensuring safe transport of items within a facility. They must follow safety protocols, inspect equipment regularly, and often work closely with warehouse teams to maintain efficient operations. Full time positions typically offer consistent schedules and may include benefits such as health insurance and paid time off. Certification and training are often required for these roles.

What is the difference between Full Time Hi Lo Driver vs Forklift Operator?

AspectFull Time Hi Lo DriverForklift Operator
CredentialsDriver's license, certification for Hi Lo operationForklift certification, OSHA compliance
Work EnvironmentWarehouse, distribution centers, outdoor yardsWarehouse, manufacturing plants, storage facilities
Employer & IndustryLogistics, retail, manufacturingWarehousing, manufacturing, shipping

Both roles involve operating material handling equipment in warehouse settings. The Full Time Hi Lo Driver specifically operates high-lift forklifts (Hi Lo), often requiring a valid driver's license and specialized certification. Forklift Operators also operate forklifts but may work with different types of forklifts and may not always require a driver's license. While both roles are essential for material movement, the Hi Lo Driver typically handles higher lifts and outdoor tasks, whereas Forklift Operators may work in more confined indoor spaces.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Full Time Hi Lo Driver, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Full Time Hi Lo Driver, you need a valid forklift operator certification, strong attention to safety procedures, and experience in warehouse or distribution environments. Familiarity with warehouse management systems, barcode scanners, and different types of forklifts (such as sit-down, stand-up, or reach trucks) is typically required. Reliability, alertness, and effective communication are important soft skills for this role. These competencies ensure safe material handling, efficient workflow, and collaboration within busy warehouse operations.

What kind of jobs can I get to make $75000 a year with a CDL license?

Full Time Hi Lo Driver positions with a CDL license can pay around $75,000 annually, especially with experience, specialized training, or working for companies that offer higher wages for long hours or hazardous conditions. Other high-paying CDL jobs include long-haul trucking, tanker or hazardous materials driving, and specialized freight hauling, which often require additional endorsements and skills. These roles typically involve driving large vehicles, adhering to safety regulations, and sometimes working irregular schedules.

What is the highest paid driving job?

The highest paid driving jobs typically include commercial truck drivers, especially those operating heavy haul or specialized equipment, and corporate or executive chauffeurs. These roles often require specialized skills, certifications, and long hours, with salaries reaching six figures in some cases. Factors such as experience, location, and type of cargo influence earning potential.

What are some common challenges Hi Lo Drivers face in a full-time warehouse environment, and how can they be successfully managed?

Full-time Hi Lo Drivers often encounter challenges such as navigating tight warehouse spaces, maintaining safety amidst fast-paced operations, and managing fatigue during long shifts. To address these, it’s important to stay alert, follow all safety protocols, and communicate clearly with team members to coordinate movements and avoid accidents. Regular equipment checks and adherence to scheduled breaks also help ensure both safety and productivity. Building good relationships with warehouse staff can make daily operations smoother and foster a collaborative work environment.

How much do Hilo drivers make?

Full-time Hi Lo drivers typically earn between $14 and $20 per hour, depending on experience, location, and the employer. Overtime and bonuses may also contribute to their overall compensation, and the job often requires certification in forklift or material handling equipment.

What job makes $1,000,000 a year?

Full Time Hi Lo Drivers typically do not earn $1,000,000 annually. Jobs that can reach such high earnings usually involve executive roles, successful entrepreneurs, or specialized professionals with significant experience, skills, and often ownership or profit-sharing arrangements. Most driving jobs have lower salary ranges and do not offer the potential for such high income levels.

Job description

The Newell Group is partnering with a dynamic and patient‑focused prosthetics and orthotics practice in Rockford, IL, to identify a dedicated Certified Prosthetist/Orthotist (CPO) or Certified Orthotist/LO who is also experienced in practice leadership and management. This is an exciting opportunity for a clinician‑leader who wants to blend hands‑on patient care with operational oversight and strategic growth.

About the Role

As the Practice Manager and clinician, you will wear two hats:

  • Clinical Lead: Deliver high‑quality, patient‑centered care for prosthetic and orthotic patients across the lifespan, including assessments, custom device prescription, fitting, follow‑up care, and adjustments.
  • Practice Leader: Oversee daily clinic operations, mentor team members, support scheduling and workflow efficiency, improve patient satisfaction, and collaborate with referring healthcare partners.

This role is ideal for an experienced prosthetics and orthotics professional who thrives in both clinical and leadership settings and is passionate about growing a local clinic that transforms lives through advanced rehabilitation solutions.

What You’ll Do

  • Provide expert evaluation, fabrication oversight, fitting and follow‑up care for prosthetic and orthotic patients.
  • Lead clinical and administrative staff, ensuring excellent patient experiences and efficient operations.
  • Support business development and local outreach to strengthen referral relationships.
  • Manage inventory, compliance, documentation and quality initiatives.
  • Foster a positive team culture and support professional growth.

What We’re Looking For

  • Certified Prosthetist/Orthotist (CPO) or Certified Orthotist / Licensed Orthotic Practitioner (LO) in good standing.
  • Strong clinical expertise with lower and upper limb prosthetics and orthotics.
  • Leadership experience and a desire to drive operational excellence.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Passion for patient‑centered care and collaborative teamwork.

Why This Opportunity Matters

This practice emphasizes innovative technology, custom‑tailored solutions, and compassionate care for individuals with mobility challenges. With a commitment to outcomes and patient quality of life, you’ll join a team that values both clinical excellence and community impact.

If you are a clinician‑leader who is ready to take the next step in your career and help shape the future of prosthetics and orthotics care in Rockford, IL, we want to hear from you!
