Full Time Hi Lo Drivers are professionals who operate Hi Lo forklifts or similar industrial trucks to move materials around warehouses, factories, or construction sites on a full-time basis. Their responsibilities include loading and unloading goods, organizing inventory, and ensuring safe transport of items within a facility. They must follow safety protocols, inspect equipment regularly, and often work closely with warehouse teams to maintain efficient operations. Full time positions typically offer consistent schedules and may include benefits such as health insurance and paid time off. Certification and training are often required for these roles.

Employer & IndustryLogistics, retail, manufacturingWarehousing, manufacturing, shipping

Both roles involve operating material handling equipment in warehouse settings. The Full Time Hi Lo Driver specifically operates high-lift forklifts (Hi Lo), often requiring a valid driver's license and specialized certification. Forklift Operators also operate forklifts but may work with different types of forklifts and may not always require a driver's license. While both roles are essential for material movement, the Hi Lo Driver typically handles higher lifts and outdoor tasks, whereas Forklift Operators may work in more confined indoor spaces.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Full Time Hi Lo Driver, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Full Time Hi Lo Driver, you need a valid forklift operator certification, strong attention to safety procedures, and experience in warehouse or distribution environments. Familiarity with warehouse management systems, barcode scanners, and different types of forklifts (such as sit-down, stand-up, or reach trucks) is typically required. Reliability, alertness, and effective communication are important soft skills for this role. These competencies ensure safe material handling, efficient workflow, and collaboration within busy warehouse operations.

What kind of jobs can I get to make $75000 a year with a CDL license?

Full Time Hi Lo Driver positions with a CDL license can pay around $75,000 annually, especially with experience, specialized training, or working for companies that offer higher wages for long hours or hazardous conditions. Other high-paying CDL jobs include long-haul trucking, tanker or hazardous materials driving, and specialized freight hauling, which often require additional endorsements and skills. These roles typically involve driving large vehicles, adhering to safety regulations, and sometimes working irregular schedules.

What is the highest paid driving job?

The highest paid driving jobs typically include commercial truck drivers, especially those operating heavy haul or specialized equipment, and corporate or executive chauffeurs. These roles often require specialized skills, certifications, and long hours, with salaries reaching six figures in some cases. Factors such as experience, location, and type of cargo influence earning potential.

What are some common challenges Hi Lo Drivers face in a full-time warehouse environment, and how can they be successfully managed?

To address these, it’s important to stay alert, follow all safety protocols, and communicate clearly with team members to coordinate movements and avoid accidents. Regular equipment checks and adherence to scheduled breaks also help ensure both safety and productivity. Building good relationships with warehouse staff can make daily operations smoother and foster a collaborative work environment.

Most driving jobs have lower salary ranges and do not offer the potential for such high income levels.
