Job description

Zemer International is seeking a skilled, full-time Heavy Equipment Mechanic with hands-on experience maintaining and repairing conveyor belt systems. This position supports continuous operations and requires flexibility to work rotating shifts, including nights and weekends. We operate 7 days a week, 40 hours per week, rain or shine.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy equipment, including excavators, haul trucks, loaders, and related machinery

  • Inspect, repair, and align conveyor belt systems, including belts, rollers, pulleys, motors, bearings, and drives

  • Perform preventative maintenance

  • Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic systems

  • Identify issues early to reduce downtime and improve equipment reliability

  • Follow all safety procedures, MSHA/OSHA standards, and company policies

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of heavy equipment mechanic experience

  • Conveyor belt system experience preferred

  • Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills

  • Comfortable working outdoors and in industrial settings

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
