Description

We are driven to help real estate investors grow their businesses through fast and flexible funding solutions and we're growing fast ourselves.

Job Description

The Sales Manager is responsible for leading, developing, and driving the performance of a pod of Loan Originators. As the direct manager of record, this role provides ongoing coaching, performance management, career development, and employee support while creating a culture of accountability and growth. Working closely with the Sales Success Manager and Corporate Trainer, the Sales Manager ensures Loan Originators successfully progress through onboarding, ramp milestones, and ongoing production goals. This role owns the day-to-day leadership of the team, including coaching, pipeline management, deal reviews, hiring decisions, and performance management.

What you'll do

  • Run individualized 1:1 coaching tied to each rep's ramp stage, not just group check-ins, using recorded calls, term sheets, and CRM inputs.
  • Document coaching sessions, performance discussions, and development plans to ensure consistent visibility and accountability across the team.
  • Serve as the primary day-to-day leader and resource for Loan Originators, helping remove obstacles and escalate broader process issues when needed.
  • Build and run pods of 6-8 with daily or near-daily touchpoints, in office or remote.
  • Assign each new hire a mentor, and make sure remote reps get the same structure and visibility as in-office reps.
  • Run a fixed-cadence deal and call review process for your pod, catching skill gaps before they surface in production numbers.
  • Review and analyze early-stage transactions to identify coaching opportunities, accelerate development, and improve production outcomes.
  • Establish escalation path for deal involvement with Vice President of Sales.
  • Own performance management and HR decisions for your pod, informed, not dictated, by the ramp dashboard and certification status.
  • Apply the Sales Success Manager's data on which candidate profiles succeed when making hiring decisions for your pod.
  • Decide, with input from the Corporate Trainer's certification results, when a rep is ready to handle files or calls solo.
  • Recruit, interview, and hire top Loan Originator talent in partnership with the Recruiting team.
  • Foster a high-performance sales culture focused on accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with Sales Leadership to identify trends, improve processes, and drive team productivity.
  • Monitor pipeline performance and proactively identify opportunities to improve conversion rates and revenue growth.

How Success is Measured

  • First-year retention of your pod's producers.
  • Ramp-milestone attainment for your reps (30/60/90/120/180 days), tracked jointly with the Sales Success Manager.
  • Deal/call review completion rate and time-to-certified for new hires.
  • Quota attainment and pipeline health across your pod.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience managing sales professionals, loan officers, or originators in the mortgage, private lending, fintech, or related financial services industry.
  • Demonstrated success coaching sales professionals to achieve and exceed production goals.
  • Experience hiring, developing, and retaining top-performing sales talent.
  • Strong understanding of sales metrics, pipeline management, and performance reporting.
  • Experience using CRM, dialer, and reporting platforms such as HubSpot, LendingWise, Aircall, or similar tools.
  • Excellent communication, coaching, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.

Why HouseMax Funding

  • Join a mission-driven team transforming real estate investment financing.
  • Work with talented professionals across Sales, Marketing, and Operations.
  • Competitive salary and performance-based incentives.
  • Comprehensive benefits package (medical, dental, vision) + generous PTO.
  • Office-based role in vibrant Austin, TX
