We are seeking Gujarati Over-the-Phone Interpreters (OPI) to support our USCIS contract. Gujarati is a key South Asian language often requested in immigration and asylum proceedings.
Responsibilities
  • Provide real-time Gujarati ↔ English telephonic interpretation for USCIS officers, applicants, and stakeholders.
  • Interpret accurately, neutrally, and confidentially in immigration, legal, and administrative settings.
  • Adhere to USCIS/DHS compliance and interpreter ethics standards.
  • Handle scheduled assignments as well as urgent/surge requests.
  • Participate in training, compliance refreshers, and QA audits.
Qualifications
  • Native or near-native fluency in Gujarati and English.
  • 2+ years of professional interpreting experience (immigration, legal, healthcare, or government preferred).
  • Familiarity with interpreter ethics, confidentiality, and cultural sensitivity.
  • Strong telephone communication skills; ability to remain accurate under pressure.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or permanent resident eligible for Tier 3/Tier 5 clearance.
