Job description

The University of Evansville Athletics Department, a proud member of the Missouri Valley Conference (MVC), invites applications for a Graduate Assistant (GA) Coach for the Men's Soccer program. This position is a unique, immersive opportunity for an aspiring collegiate coach to gain comprehensive, hands-on experience in a Division I athletic program.
As a Graduate Assistant, you will work directly with our coaching staff, playing a pivotal role in the daily operations of the program, from athlete development and recruiting to team logistics and social media engagement. If you are passionate about the game of soccer and are looking to build a career in collegiate athletics, we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
The Graduate Assistant role is designed to provide a broad foundation in Division I coaching and athletic administration. Your main duties will include:
  • Athletic & Academic Oversight: Assist in the recruitment and retention of academically and athletically qualified student-athletes.
  • Coaching & Development: Actively participate in practice planning, game preparation, and on-field coaching.
  • Operations & Logistics: Manage film exchange and editing, statistical analysis, and assist in the coordination of team/coaches' travel.
  • Program Growth: Lead camp and clinic business development, coordinate community service initiatives, and assist with marketing, promotions, and social networking to build the program's brand.
  • Compliance: Perform all duties in strict compliance with University, NCAA, and Missouri Valley Conference rules and regulations.
  • Campus Engagement: Foster strong, collaborative relationships with student-athletes, faculty, and University staff.

Required Qualifications
  • Education: A Bachelor's Degree is required.
  • Certifications: Must have the ability to obtain AED, CPR, and First Aid certifications.
  • Attributes: High level of organization, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to thrive in a high-paced, competitive environment.
  • Availability: Ability to work some nights, weekends, and early mornings, as well as travel with the team as required.
