The Weber Lab at Bryn Mawr isseekingaResearchAssistant to join our team for a full-time, one-year appointment beginning in summer 2026. Our labstudieshow sensory information is encoded in the nervous system, using insect flight as a model system to studymechanosensation. The RA will gainexperience conducting electrophysiology experiments, as well as analyzing data and preparing data for publication. The RA will alsoassistwith day-to-day operations of thelab, such as inventory and animal care. There willbe opportunities to mentor undergraduate research assistants.

Characteristic Responsibilities:

• Conduct electrophysiologyexperimentsto investigate how sensory information is encoded in the nervous system, using insect flightas a model system formechanosensation.

• Collect, organize, and analyze experimentaldata usingappropriate quantitativeand computational methods.

• Prepare data, figures, and documentation for manuscripts, presentations, and publication.

• Assistwith day-to-day operations of the laboratory, includingmaintaininginventories, ordering supplies, andensuring well-organized lab environments.

• Perform routine animal care and ensure compliance with laboratory and institutional protocols.

• Maintain detailed andaccurateexperimental records and lab notebooks.

• Collaborate with the principal investigator and other lab members on ongoing research projects.

• Mentor and provide guidance to undergraduate research assistants, including training in experimental techniques and best lab practices.

• Participate in lab meetings and contribute to discussions on experimental designs, troubleshooting, and data interpretation.

RequiredQualifications:

• BS or BA in Biology, Neuroscience, or a related field by Summer 2026.

• Prior laboratory experience in a research setting.

• Successful completion of satisfactory background checks.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Basic programming experience (e.g.,Python or MATLAB).

• Prior experience with electrophysiology techniques is a particular plus but notrequired.
