Job Title: Senior Developer

Purpose and Objective:   

SAP Labs, LLC seeks a Senior Developer at our San Ramon, CA location responsible for development focusing on design, coding, testing, quality assurance of complex product features in a development team.  

Expectations and Tasks:  

Resolve complex issues within own area of expertise and support others in resolving issues. Show initiative and drive topics to resolution in a high level of quality, speed, reliability, and efficiency. Work closely together with others and share expertise to ensure product success. Constantly improve own work methods to gain state-of-the-art agile software engineering skills. Enhance skills beyond own core functional focus and work on other tasks for the benefit of the team. If serving as a Scrum Master, will be responsible for promoting and supporting Scrum by helping everyone understand Scrum theory, practices, rules, and values. Scrum Master is a 'servant-leader' for the Product Owner and the Development Team. Facilitates Scrum events on request or as required. Coaches the Development Team in self-organization. Removes impediments to the Development Team's progress.  

Education and Occupational Experience:  

Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field of study and six (6) years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or related occupation.  Alternatively, a Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field of study and four (4) years of experience in the job offered or related occupation. 

Qualifications/Skills and Competencies Experience:  

Experience must include four (4) years involving each of the following: 

  • Java; 

  • Agile/Scrum methodologies; 

  • Database management, including SQL, HANA, and MySQL; 

  • Performance, Unit and integration testing frameworks, including JUnit, Apache JMeter; 

  • Spring Boot Framework; 

  • AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP); 

  • CI/CD pipeline design and DevOps tools, including Docker, Kubernetes, and Jenkins; 

  • JProfiler, IntelliJ, and Splunk; 

  • Troubleshooting and fixing live customer issues independently; 

  • Designing and developing full life cycle of REST APIs including design, development, upgrade, and maintenance; and  

  • Backend development and API design.

Compensation Range Transparency: The annual base salary range for this position is $135,478 - $222,288. SAP believes the value of pay transparency contributes towards an honest and supportive culture and is a significant step toward demonstrating SAP's commitment to pay equity. SAP provides the annualized compensation range inclusive of base salary and variable incentive target for the career level applicable to the posted role. The targeted combined range for this position is $148,600 - $252,600. The actual amount to be offered to the successful candidate will be within that range, dependent upon the key aspects of each case which may include education, skills, experience, scope of the role, location, etc. as determined through the selection process. Any SAP variable incentive includes a targeted dollar amount and any actual payout amount is dependent on company and personal performance.
