Job Description
The Just Transformations to Sustainability (JTS) Initiative at Notre Dame advances a distinctive model of sustainability rooted in hope, justice, and human flourishing. In partnership with the Holy See and the Laudato si' Center for Higher Education, we are launching the Global Alliance for Laudato si', an international network of mission-aligned researchers and practitioners dedicated to advancing integral ecology through world-class scholarship and action.
As the Global Alliance Program Manager, you will be the primary liaison and strategic engine driving this network forward. You will cultivate the global community, guiding interdisciplinary working groups through the entire research lifecycle from initial design to final deliverables. Additionally, you will lead the creative design and execution of high-level international workshops and convenings, shaping agendas that turn big ideas into collaborative breakthroughs.
Reporting to the JTS Managing Director, you will also play a pivotal role in securing the Alliance's long-term future. By collaborating with Notre Dame's Corporate and Foundation Relations team, you will coordinate and co-author key concept notes, white papers, and major grant proposals. Oversee working group coordination, planning, implementation, outcome tracking, and reporting. Manage the funds allocated to each working group. Create and maintain systems for tracking progress toward deliverables and key outcomes.
- Convening Design and Implementation: Lead the technical aspects of planning and implementing Global Alliance convenings and workshops, ensuring that convenings lead to tangible outcomes and actionable next steps. Shape convening objectives, design convening agendas and sessions, and provide robust communication to convening participants leading up to, during, and after the convening. Work closely with the Laudato si' Center for Higher Education on convening logistics.
- Resource Mobilization: Lead and support proposal development for Global Alliance activities, targeting a diverse set of potential funding sources, including corporations, foundations, and private benefactors. Represent the Global Alliance internally and externally. Collaborate with JTS leadership, Notre Dame's Department of Development, and other University partners to raise and steward funds for the Global Alliance.
- Partnership and Network Cultivation: Serve as the JTS Initiative's primary liaison to the Laudato si' Center for Higher Education, cultivating a relationship grounded in mutual trust, clear communication, and shared ownership. Work closely with Center counterparts to define and operationalize a network engagement strategy to keep members informed and involved in Global Alliance activities. Maintain network databases, coordination network membership processes, and support external communications. Diversify and strengthen the Global Alliance's network of researchers, practitioners, and community leaders, emphasizing the inclusion of marginalized and commonly underrepresented actors.
