Description Nelson Intelligence Solutions is seeking a qualified Geospatial Engineer to work onsite in Little Rock, Arkansas. Geospatial Engineer designs, implements, configures, and sustains enterprise geospatial systems using the Esri ArcGIS platform. The role supports missionโ€‘critical operations by ensuring GIS infrastructure, applications, and services are reliable, secure, and optimized for operational use in DoD and Intelligence environments. This position bridges GIS, IT infrastructure, and operational users, often working as part of Esriโ€‘led or prime contractor delivery teams

Primary Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, administer, and maintain ArcGIS Enterprise environments (Portal, ArcGIS Server, Data Store) on classified and unclassified networks (e.g., SIPR/NIPR).
  • Perform system upgrades, patching, license management, performance tuning, and fault resolution.
  • Implement backup, recovery, and continuity strategies for enterprise GIS systems.
  • Integrate Esri GIS services with DoD intelligence, C4ISR, and mission systems.
  • Publish and manage geospatial services such as Map, Feature, Image, WMS, and WFS services.
  • Work with databases and data pipelines to support operational workflows.
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts using Python (ArcPy) and REST APIs.
  • Support custom geospatial applications and dashboards using JavaScript, ArcGIS API for JavaScript, and web services.
  • Troubleshoot complex data, application, and system issues across environments.
  • Provide Tier 2/3 operational support to analysts, planners, and mission users.
  • Support surge operations, exercises, and realโ€‘world contingencies.
  • Collaborate with Esri Professional Services, primes, and government stakeholders.

Requirements

  • US citizen
  • Bachelor's degree in Geography, Geospatial Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Handsโ€‘on experience with Esri ArcGIS Enterprise (onโ€‘prem or cloud).
  • Proficiency with ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Server, Portal for ArcGIS, and geodatabases.
  • Experience with Python scripting, ArcPy, and REST services.
  • Knowledge of SQL and geospatial databases (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL/PostGIS).
  • Familiarity with IT concepts: Windows/Linux servers, virtualization, storage, networking, and security.
  • 3โ€“8+ years of experience in GIS engineering, system administration, or geospatial application support (level adjusted per labor category).
  • US citizenship with Active or Current (within 2 years of active) Top Secret Security Clearance with SCI eligibility
  • Experience supporting DoD or Intelligence customers strongly preferred.
  • Experience working in classified environments is highly desirable
