About Us:

Founded 20 years ago and headquartered in Chicago, the DV Group of financial services firms has grown to more than 600 people operating throughout North America, Europe and Asia. Since spinning out of a large brokerage firm in 2016, DV Trading has rapidly scaled as an independent proprietary trading firm utilizing its own capital, trading strategies, and risk management methodologies to provide liquidity to worldwide financial markets and hedging opportunities to commodity producers and users. Now, DV group affiliates include two broker dealers, a cryptocurrency market making firm, and a bourgeoning investment adviser.

Overview:

We are seeking to hire an Equity Research Analyst who will immerse themselves in the information landscape, staying abreast of real-time news developments to help our trading strategies. This role is pivotal for providing timely insights and analysis that feed into the critical decision-making processes within our dynamic trading environment.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Willing to work overnight (roughly 2pm to 11pm ET)
  • Collaborate closely with traders and other analysts to communicate significant market events instantly.
  • Analyze broad macro trends, closely monitor geopolitical developments, and perform deep dives into company financials.
  • Construct and uphold detailed company and market databases.
  • Help develop and maintain earnings and valuation models.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Mathematics/Statistics, or a related field.
  • 2-5 years of full-time (post internship experience)
  • Independent initiator with a robust skill set in analytical problem-solving.
  • Strong technical proficiency in Excel and experience with Bloomberg or Reuters.
  • A strong interest in following the news, market movements, and an understanding of their impact on trading.
  • A strong work ethic with the capability to assimilate quickly in a demanding, high-pressure environment.
  • Knowledge of SQL, Python, or other programming languages is useful.
  • Prior experience in buy-side or sell-side research is beneficial.

The range below reflects the expected base salary for this position. It represents a good-faith estimate of the base pay we anticipate offering, with actual compensation determined by your experience, education, skills, and performance throughout the interview process. This role is also eligible for a discretionary bonus (at DV Trading's discretion) and DV Trading's benefits package, including the benefits listed above.
