Snowbird is a unique resort with distinct summer and winter seasons and offers full-time, part-time and seasonal positions.

TITLE: Gate Operator

LOCATION: Snowbird Resort

STATUS: Seasonal, Full-Time, Hourly

SCHEDULE: Variable

  • Anticipated start: Late November.
  • Typical Shifts:7:30 am to 3:30 pm
  • Shifts may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays based on operational needs.

SUMMARY

Join Snowbird's Tram, Lift & Gate (TLG) Operations team as a Gate Operator, helping provide a safe, efficient, and welcoming experience for guests accessing the mountain. In this role, you'll verify lift access, monitor gate operations, assist guests, and help ensure compliance with Snowbird's pass and ticket policies.

With all supervisors and the director having more than 10 years of service, you'll be joining an established, experienced team known for collaboration, consistency, and operational excellence.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Operate lift access gates safely and efficiently.
  • Verify lift tickets, passes, and access credentials.
  • Maintain safe, organized, and hazard-free gate areas.
  • Provide exceptional guest service and assist with guest questions or concerns.
  • Enforce pass and ticket policies, including identifying fraudulent pass use.
  • Work closely with other departments to support safe and seamless mountain operations.
  • Support tram, lift, and dig crew operations as needed.

WHAT YOU NEED TO GET THE JOB DONE

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Customer service experience preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and follow established procedures.
  • Basic reading, writing, math, and problem-solving skills.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Commitment to enforcing policies consistently and professionally.

WORK SCHEDULE

  • Specific Shifts:Shifts vary, maybe early morning or late evening, weekends, and holidays, depending on business levels.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Work outdoors in variable winter weather conditions.
  • Stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Bend, kneel, reach, grasp, and perform repetitive motions.
  • Work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Frequent interaction with guests during high-volume periods.
  • May be required to stay overnight during road closures or severe weather events.
