Position Summary

As a leading manufacturer of industrial exhaust systems, components, and accessories, we pride ourselves on being a one-stop solution for all your industrial exhaust needs. Our advanced silencers are trusted across the fan, vent, blower, engine, and industrial machinery markets, while our emission control products excel in the power generation, off-road, marine, defense, and oil & gas sectors. We are seeking a Fitter to join our team. This position is responsible for cutting, fitting, and welding pipe fittings according to detailed specifications. The ideal candidate will ensure quality workmanship, adhere to safety standards, and function effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Operate hand grinders as needed
  • Understanding how to properly clean and prep material before fitting
  • Ability to use basic fabricating tools
  • Knowledge of a variety of hand tools and welding equipment.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints and design
  • Ability to add, subtract, and divide into all units of measures
  • Follow all safety rules and practices and safety protocols
  • Address fitting issues
  • Clean/finish welded surfaces
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards
  • Fit/align metal components accurately
  • Read/interpret welding symbols/drawings
  • Prepare metal materials
  • Prepare Weld Joints
  • Other duties assigned as needed

Qualifications
  • Previous steel and carbon steel experience.
  • Previous experience reading blueprints and following to completion.
  • Basic math skills and mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to read tape measurements
  • Ability to use a variety of tools and equipment.
  • Ability to multitask and work independently.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
  • Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Performing duties while wearing personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Most tasks are performed in a standing position with intermittent walking.
  • Movement including walking, standing, bending/stooping, turning, twisting, pushing, pulling, raising arms, lifting, climbing, and other active movements.
  • Working in temperature zones that may include hot environments for extended periods and may include work in environments where dust is present.
