Our client is seeking a media savvy Full Stack PHP / Python Developer for a wide variety of Internet projects including: custom CMS solutions, multimedia sites, APIs for content syndication, and web applications designed to serve our editorial or marketing teams. The selected Developer will work in a fast paced continuous deployment environment on three main websites. With 20 million monthly unique visitors across the three sites, this is a chance to work on high profile websites with a track record of sustained growth.
This is an opportunity to work with our client's product, edit, and sales teams to define and execute our digital products. The ideal candidate will be intellectually curious and highly practical, with the willingness and ability to handle a wide variety of challenges. Our client aims to be innovative and efficient as we seek to expand the reach of our brand and impact of our ideas.
Full Stack PHP / Python Developer Responsibilities Include:
Participating in a team-oriented environment to develop new web-based applications (desktop and mobile)
Maintaining existing Python, PHP, and JavaScript codebases, including troubleshooting bugs and developing new features
Brainstorming and developing ways to improve our content and ad delivery across multiple devices
Balancing a variety of concurrent projects while meeting deadlines
Demonstrating attention to detail while implementing technical specifications
Full Stack PHP / Python Developer Qualifications of the Ideal Candidate:
Proven hands on experience working in a LAMP environment
Ability to define and communicate a technical vision, possessing excellent verbal and written communication skills
Detailed knowledge of object oriented programming concepts and application design and the ability to apply them to Python or PHP projects
Experience working with MVC web frameworks (Django preferred)
Experience with version control systems (GIT preferred)
Ability to follow established coding styles (such as PEP 8 for Python or Zend for PHP)
Knowledge of SQL and relational database design and optimization
Comfortable using Linux / Unix command line
Able to write valid, semantic HTML / CSS
