What is a full time flagger?

Full time flaggers are workers responsible for directing traffic safely through construction zones, roadwork sites, or other areas where normal traffic flow is disrupted. Their primary duties include using signs, hand signals, and other devices to manage vehicle and pedestrian movement, ensuring the safety of both workers and the public. Full time flaggers often work outdoors in various weather conditions, and must remain alert and communicate effectively with their team to prevent accidents. Training and certification are typically required, as the job demands a thorough understanding of traffic control procedures and safety regulations.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a full time flagger, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Full Time Flagger, you need a solid understanding of traffic control procedures, safety regulations, and typically a valid flagger certification. Familiarity with two-way radios, traffic signs, and personal protective equipment is also essential. Attention to detail, clear communication, and the ability to remain alert under pressure are crucial soft skills in this role. These skills ensure the safety of workers and motorists while maintaining efficient traffic flow at construction or roadwork sites.

Where do full time flaggers get paid the most?

Full time flaggers tend to earn higher wages in regions with a high cost of living and strong construction industries, such as certain metropolitan areas or states with active infrastructure projects. Factors like experience, certifications, and union membership can also influence pay rates across different locations.

Full Time Flagger and Part Time Flagger roles share similar certifications and work environments, but differ mainly in hours worked and employment stability. Full Time Flaggers work regular hours and are usually employed directly by companies, while Part Time Flaggers work fewer hours, often on a temporary basis. Both roles are essential for traffic safety at construction sites.

How many hours do full time flaggers work a day?

Full-time flaggers typically work around 8 hours per day, often during standard daytime shifts. Overtime may be required depending on project needs, and safety training is essential for working in traffic control environments.

What are some of the main challenges full time flaggers face on the job, and how can they effectively manage them?

Full Time Flaggers often work in outdoor environments where they must remain alert and focused for extended periods, sometimes in adverse weather conditions. Managing communication with drivers and construction crews is crucial to ensure safety and smooth traffic flow, which can be challenging during busy or high-stress situations. Effective flaggers rely on clear hand signals, use of two-way radios, and consistent situational awareness to mitigate risks and prevent accidents. Developing strong teamwork skills and staying updated on safety protocols are key ways to handle these challenges successfully.

About the Role
Warehouse Installation Network (WIN) is a face-to-face lead generation company that deploys in-house sales professionals into retail environments across Canada. We work alongside some of the country's leading installation-based service providers in HVAC, home comfort, windows, roofing, and more.
What We’re Looking For:
We're looking for an accomplished Team Lead with a minimum 2 years of group leadership experienced, who can operate on the floor, drive results in a retail environment, and take ownership of partner accounts and relationships. This is a hands-on leadership role — you'll be selling, coaching, and managing relationships all at once.
What You'll Do
In-Store Sales & Lead Generation
•     Work directly in retail locations engaging with customers and generating pre-qualified appointments for our service partners
•     Consistently hit daily and weekly lead targets while maintaining quality standards
•     Lead by example on the floor — this is not a desk role
Team Leadership
•     Oversee and support a team of in-store sales representatives during shifts
•     Provide real-time coaching and feedback to keep the team focused and performing
•     Submit daily activity summaries and keep leadership informed on team performance
•     Assist with onboarding new reps and getting them up to speed quickly
Account & Partner Management
•     Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned partner accounts
•     Build and maintain strong working relationships with partner representatives
•     Monitor lead quality and appointment outcomes, flagging issues and pivoting as needed
•     Communicate proactively with partners on performance, feedback, and scheduling
•     Represent WIN professionally in all partner-facing interactions
Our Ideal Candidate
•   Minimum 2 years group leadership experience is a must
•   Proven experience in face-to-face or retail sales
•   Natural communicator who builds rapport quickly with customers and colleagues alike
•   Comfortable in a fast-paced, target-driven environment
•   Experience managing or mentoring others is a strong asset
•   Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities
•   Reliable, accountable, and professional in how you show up every day
What We Offer
•     Competitive base pay plus performance-based bonuses
•     A clear path for growth within a rapidly expanding national organization
•     Hands-on leadership experience from day one
•     A team that takes performance seriously and rewards results
•     Consistent scheduling across retail locations in your market
Pay starts at $24/hr. plus bonus/commission.
If you’re ready to lead a team, develop innovative sales strategies, and grow your career with an industry leader, we’d love to hear from you.
