Molding Process Technician

Location: Defiance, OH
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $26/hour+
Shift/Schedule: 7am-4pm- will eventually work 6am-6pm

About the Role

We're hiring a Molding Process Technician responsible for setting molds and starting molders within established process guidelines. This role plays a key part in maintaining part quality, optimizing changeover times, and keeping molding operations running efficiently.

What You'll Do
  • Process and operate Injection Molding and Blow Molding machines
  • Monitor, maintain, and recommend improvements to standard molding cycle times and part quality
  • Launch new molds and obtain first piece approval to engineering standards
  • Develop and implement operating instructions in coordination with QA
  • Develop and manage a well-organized mold change process to optimize uptime and reduce changeover times
  • Program and troubleshoot injection molding robots
  • Handle and clean all tooling and equipment properly to avoid damage
  • Set molds as required by schedule and process to meet quality standards
  • Check parts for quality and complete required paperwork logs
  • Assist maintenance on injection molding, blow molding, and other processing equipment as needed
What We're Looking For
  • High school diploma or GED required (equivalent field experience considered)
  • 3+ years of Process Technician experience
  • Knowledge of different plastic materials and their characteristics
  • Understanding of mold construction
  • Basic math skills and ability to apply them on the job
  • Basic computer skills; ability to work a press HMI
  • Robot programming and troubleshooting experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Previous forklift and crane operating experience a plus
