Film editors in full-time roles typically earn a median annual salary ranging from $50,000 to $100,000, depending on experience, location, and industry. Entry-level editors may start lower, while experienced professionals working on major projects or in high-cost areas can earn higher salaries, often supplemented by benefits and overtime pay.

Is AI replacing video editors?

AI technology is increasingly used to assist video editors by automating tasks such as rough cuts, color correction, and basic editing. However, full-time film editors still play a crucial role in creative decision-making, storytelling, and fine-tuning edits that require human judgment and artistic skill. AI tools are viewed as complementary rather than replacements in the editing profession.
