Job description

Position Purpose:

Edit and assemble recorded footage into a professional final product that aligns with the Producer's creative vision, elevates viewer experience, and meets broadcast standards.

Essential Duties:

  • Edit video footage to provide an engaging experience for the audience.
  • Attention to detail, discernment for quality editing, identifying undesirable editing conditions within a project, and fixing them to connect the viewer with the content.
  • Apply basic video effects, transitions, and color correction.
  • Insert video effects, transitions, and graphics.
  • Make basic color correction to match the show's standard operating procedures.
  • Sync and mix audio with video to ensure clear and balanced sound.
  • Perform basic audio clean-up and enhancement.
  • Follow standard operating procedure for media management.
  • Create project spaces, organize assets, and label according to file naming structure.
  • Add show graphics such as titles, full screen graphics, logo bugs, and lower thirds.
  • Ensure information on graphics is correct.
  • Be able to look for technical problems, listen for audio inconsistencies, and see incorrect coloring.
  • Collaborate with editors, producers, and other team members to execute the vision of video projects.
  • Stay up to date with video editing software and equipment.
  • Troubleshooting basic technical issues related to editing software and hardware.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Must be able to effectively operate a Mac and Windows-based computer and navigate Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Basic knowledge of editing software, i.e., Davinci Resolve & Adobe Premiere, and Photoshop. (After Effects, Audition, Encore, and Final Cut are a plus).
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Basic knowledge of graphic design is a plus.
  • Ability to work under supervision.

Requirements:

  • Must have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
  • Must sign the Statement of Faith.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent education is required.
  • A Charis Bible College student or graduate is preferred.
  • Film School credentials are desirable.
  • Must be able to demonstrate video editing ability.
  • Must pass all required checks.

Experience:

  • 1+ years of experience in video editing is desirable.
  • Compensation is commensurate with experience.
