Position Description
Operate CAT 988 and CAT 992 wheel loaders (or equivalent large production loaders) to perform truck loading, stockpile management, material handling, and large-scale earthmoving activities in support of heavy civil construction projects.
Key Highlights:
• Operate large production wheel loaders to efficiently load rigid-frame haul trucks and maintain project production goals
• Handle and move rock, aggregate, overburden, soil, and other earth materials in high-volume production environments
• Work safely and efficiently around haul trucks, excavators, dozers, and other heavy equipment
• Maintain proper loading techniques, material control, and truck cycle efficiency
• Perform stockpile management, loading operations, material blending, and site material distribution
• Conduct pre- and post-operation equipment inspections and assist with routine equipment maintenance
• Read and understand site plans, material movement requirements, and production objectives
• Work in fast-paced, high-production environments with minimal supervision
• Follow all company safety policies, equipment operating procedures, and project safety requirements
• Assist with general labor duties as needed to support project operations
Position Requirements

The qualifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required. Required Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or GED preferred
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience operating large wheel loaders in heavy civil construction, mining, quarry, mass excavation, or large earthwork environments
• Experience operating CAT 988, CAT 992, or equivalent production wheel loaders preferred
• Experience loading rigid-frame haul trucks and working in high-production material movement operations
• Ability to safely handle and move rock, aggregate, overburden, soil, and other earth materials while maintaining production goals
• Experience working around haul trucks, excavators, dozers, and other heavy equipment in active production environments
• Ability to perform daily inspections, identify maintenance needs, and assist with routine preventative maintenance
• Willingness to perform laborer duties when project needs require
• Ability to work effectively as a team member while maintaining a professional attitude and positive work ethic
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities
• Ability to work safely under pressure with time constraints in a changing environment
• Frequent physical activity including climbing in and out of equipment, walking uneven terrain, bending, lifting up to 75 pounds, balancing, kneeling, and working around active construction operations
• Strong hand-eye coordination, depth perception, and situational awareness required
• Flexible availability including overtime, weekends, and extended work schedules as project need requires
• Valid Driver's License required
• OSHA 10 certification preferred
• Must have the ability to communicate clearly, listen effectively, and understand verbal instructions, safety requirements, and operational procedures to ensure safe and productive jobsite performance
