Job description

Job Summary

The ERP Administrator manages and maintains our Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. The successful candidate will also oversee the technical administration of our e-commerce platform (ECI EvolutionX) and Dynamics 365 CRM, both of which are integrated with Business Central. Additional responsibilities include managing EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) connectors and transactions, creating insightful reports using Power BI, Jet Reports, and Power Query in Excel, and supporting end users with training and documentation. This role ensures the seamless operation of our ERP system, integrated platforms, and related technologies to support business processes and decision-making. 

Duties/Responsibilities  

ERP Administration

  • Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central to meet organizational needs. 
  • Manage user roles and permissions within the ERP system to ensure security and compliance. 

  • Coordinate system updates, patches, and upgrades with minimal disruption to operations. 

E-Commerce Site Administration: 

  • Oversee the technical aspects and administration of the e-commerce platform integrated with Business Central. 

  • Ensure seamless data exchange between the e-commerce platform and the ERP system. 

  • Monitor and troubleshoot issues related to the integration, functionality, and performance of the e-commerce site. 

  • Escalate issues to and coordinate with external service providers as necessary. 

Dynamics 365 CRM Administration: 

  • Administer and maintain Dynamics 365 CRM, ensuring its functionality and alignment with business needs. 

  • Manage the integration between Dynamics 365 CRM and Business Central to support customer data and processes. 

  • Oversee and create managed patches as needed to modify the application based on requirements from end users. 

EDI Management: 

  • Oversee the integration, configuration, and troubleshooting of EDI connectors and transactions. 

  • Monitor EDI processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness of data exchanges with partners. 

  • Collaborate with trading partners and vendors to resolve issues and enhance EDI capabilities. 

  • Ensure any transactional errors are corrected immediately and processed. 

Reporting and Analytics: 

  • Develop and maintain reports and dashboards using Power BI, Jet Reports, and Power Query. 

  • Analyze data to provide actionable insights and support decision-making across departments. 

  • Create automated reporting processes to improve efficiency and data reliability. 

Training and Documentation: 

  • Develop and maintain user-friendly documentation for ERP system processes, integrated platforms, and functionality. 

  • Provide hands-on training sessions and ongoing support to end users to maximize system utilization. 

  • Act as the primary point of contact for ERP-related inquiries and troubleshooting. 

Cross-Functional Collaboration: 

  • Work closely with department leaders to identify ERP, CRM, and e-commerce requirements. 

  • Collaborate with IT, Finance, Operations, Sales, and other teams to ensure seamless integration of ERP and related systems with business processes. 

  • Support and/or perform ad hoc projects involving system customization, process improvements, and integrations. 

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field  

  • 3+ years of experience in ERP system administration, with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. 

  • Experience with e-commerce platforms and their integration with ERP systems. 

  • Experience with CRM systems, preferably Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM, and their integration with ERP systems as well as the creation of Power Automate Flows for automation. 

  • Experience with EDI tools, connectors, and processes. 

  • Proven experience creating reports and dashboards using Power BI, Jet Reports, and Power Query. 

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Strong understanding of ERP systems, e-commerce platforms, and CRM workflows. 

  • Knowledge of SQL databases, data models, and query languages is a plus. 

  • Familiarity with API integrations, data exchange protocols, and cloud data lakes. 

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to create clear documentation and deliver effective training. 

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects in a fast-paced environment.
