The Epic Ambulatory Analyst plays a key role in providing the highest quality of patient care while the patient is in at Union Health.


The Epic Ambulatory Analyst supports the implementation, optimization, and maintenance of EpicCare Ambulatory, which manages outpatient clinical workflows, including nurse triage, clinician and provider workflows, in office mediation and immunization administration, back-office imaging and other diagnostics and procedures. The analyst is responsible for design, build, and troubleshooting related to the application. This role partners with clinicians, technologists, and IT teams to ensure EpicCare Ambulatory meets clinical needs, regulatory requirements, and operational goals.

EPIC Ambulatory Analyst

Essential Job Duties:

  • Collaborate with outpatient clinicians, technologists, and administrative teams to gather requirements and translate them into effective system configurations.
  • Configure and optimize EpicCare Ambulatory module to support workflows such as in office visits, procedure documentation, CAMMs, SmartSets, Referrals, In Basket, etc.
  • Engage in integration between Epic and external systems, electronic health records (EHR), and other clinical applications like dictation or speech recognition.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of provider/clinician workflows to inform system design and optimize clinical practice.
  • Leverage broad knowledge of system integration points to work collaboratively across specialties to ensure cohesive workflows between scheduling, billing, and inpatient/outpatient clinical modules.

Qualifications:

  • EpicCare Ambulatory Certification
    • Experience/Certification in Nurse Triage, Orders Transmittal, In Basket, Mobile Device Integration, Ambulatory Re
    • Experience in Epic Project Implementations- build, testing, readiness, go-live support.
    • Union Third-Party systems include: LabCorp, Surescripts, Rosch, iHeal, Viewpoint
