Job Summary

The Opportunity
The Systems Engineer II - Epic ODBA is responsible for managing the enterprise Epic EHR database environments at Mass General Brigham. The Engineer provides ongoing support including building, upgrading, patching and extensive monitoring. The Epic ODBA will ensure stability, performance and high availability of these critical systems.


Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
  • This role can review and consider experience in lieu of a degree
  • Epic ODBA certification Preferred
  • Experience administering enterprise systems and platforms


Skills For Success

  • Ability to manage Epic ODB environments including installations, configurations, upgrades and patching
  • IRIS database administration expertise strongly preferred
  • Experience in system performance analysis and capacity planning
  • Experience and knowledge of UNIX/Linux system administration and scripting preferred
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
  • Familiarity with Epic Chronicles, Data Courier and other Epic applications preferred
  • Ability to analyze and troubleshoot complex system and application issues.
  • Understanding of system security concepts and the implementation of security-leading practices.
  • Excellent reasoning and analytic skills in a time critical/mission critical problem-solving operation.
  • Excellent communications, interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Ability to lead discussions on specific technical topics
  • Excellence at prioritizing work and tasks.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with technical and non-technical people.
