Job description

Job Summary

Aptive is seeking a Content Developer/Copywriter to support the writing, editing, and developing of creative content for marketing and communications materials intended for external audiences. This role translates program information into clear, compelling, and audience-appropriate content across multiple channels and formats.

The Content Developer/Copywriter role requires a self-starter, proactive problem solver and action-oriented team player with previous experience in writing, editing, and developing creative content for external communications and marketing campaigns. This position needs an individual that is committed to providing superior service, poised under pressure and has a positive and flexible attitude.

This is a contingent hire position. Offers will be contingent upon client approval, ability to meet security requirements, and the ability to adhere to any on-site requirements (which may change at contract award).

Remote work is anticipated. However, all candidates should be local to the Washington, DC metro area as on-site work may be required.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Write, edit, and proofread marketing and communications materials for external audiences.
  • Develop creative concepts and copy across web, print, social media, and other channels.
  • Ensure content is accurate, clear, on-brand, and tailored to the intended audience.
  • Collaborate with designers, strategists, and program staff to produce cohesive deliverables.
  • Revise content based on client and stakeholder feedback.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 5 years of demonstrated experience writing, editing, proofreading, and creative conception for marketing and communications materials intended for external audiences.
  • Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications, Marketing, Advertising, or a related field.
  • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills across multiple channels and formats.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a public trust clearance/DHS suitability determination.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
