Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Prepare the design and complete load calculations, schematics, equipment selection and system concept report.
  • Prepare the contract documents including the specifications.
  • Evaluate shop drawing reviews.
  • Manage projects from design through construction. 
  • Ensure ASHRAE and LEED compliance where applicable.
  • Direct, review, and approve project design changes.
  • Engage in meetings with clients, contractors, and other consultants regarding project reports and findings.
  • Provide expertise and guidance in the identification, analysis, and resolution of problems.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Post-secondary degree in Mechanical Engineering or another relevant discipline required.
  • Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering is an asset.
  • Professional Engineering Designation (P.Eng) required.
  • 6+ years of experience in Mechanical Engineering for industrial, commercial, and/or institutional buildings.
  • Strong background knowledge in Building Design with an emphasis on mechanical systems (HVAC/Plumbing/Fire Protection).
  • Knowledge of applicable codes and standards such as the Canadian National Building Code (NBC(AE))
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to meet deadlines/successful completion of deliverables.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Familiarity with the LEED accreditation process is an asset.

  • Compensation Range: $85,000 - $120,000 /per annum
This compensation represents INVIRO’s current anticipated range for this position. Actual compensation offered may vary based on the candidate’s qualifications, experience, and skills.
