How much do engineer co op jobs pay per hour?
What is the difference between Engineer Co Op vs Engineer Intern?
| Aspect | Engineer Co Op | Engineer Intern |
|---|---|---|
| Credentials | Typically enrolled in an engineering degree program, may require specific coursework | Usually undergraduate students in engineering programs |
| Work Environment | Full-time or part-time paid positions, often integrated into the company’s workflow | Usually unpaid or paid internships, shorter duration |
| Employer & Industry Usage | Common in engineering firms, manufacturing, and tech companies | Common in similar industries, often as a stepping stone to full employment |
Engineer Co Op positions are structured as paid, longer-term roles that provide practical experience during a student's academic career. Engineer Intern roles are typically shorter, often unpaid, and serve as introductory exposure to engineering work. Both roles help students gain industry experience, but Co Op positions usually involve more responsibilities and integration into ongoing projects.
