The Electronic Security Service Technician installs, services, troubleshoots, and maintains electronic security systems including video surveillance, access control, intrusion detection, alarms, and related low-voltage equipment. This role ensures systems operate reliably, meet customer requirements, and comply with industry standards
Responsibilities
  • Install, configure, and test CCTV/IP camera systems, NVRs/VMS platforms, and networked security devices
  • Install and service access control systems (card readers, door hardware, controllers, biometrics)
  • Diagnose and repair intrusion alarm systems, sensors, panels, and communication modules
  • Perform preventive maintenance, system inspections, and firmware/software updates
  • Run, terminate, and label low-voltage cabling (Cat5/6, coax, fiber)
  • Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical schematics
  • Provide on-site and remote technical support to customers and internal teams
  • Document service activities, parts used, and system configurations
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, company policies, and local regulations
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and vendors to resolve complex issues

Qualifications
  • Experience with electronic security systems (video, access, intrusion)
  • Strong understanding of IP networking, switches, PoE, and basic routing
  • Ability to use diagnostic tools (multimeter, cable tester, laptop-based utilities)
  • Knowledge of low-voltage wiring standards and installation best practices
  • Strong problem-solving and customer-service skills
  • Ability to work independently in the field
  • Valid driver's license; ability to lift equipment and work on ladders
