Job Summary:
The Electrical Assembler operates equipment and performs manual soldering and assembly processes required to build and test an electrical coil assembly to customer specifications.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
  • Setup and operation of manual and automated coil winding equipment
  • Preparation and soldering of coil and PCB assemblies
  • Setup and operation of manual and semi-automated wire stripping machines
  • Setup and operation of a Thermal Chamber, RF Pre-heater and Transfer Molding Press
  • Potting of coil assemblies with two part epoxy encapsulant
  • Manual trimming, cleaning and inspection of assemblies.
  • Performance of dielectric and resistance testing using stand alone or semi-automated systems
  • Installation and testing of crimp connectors
  • Identification and communication of quality issues
  • Accurate and timely completion of all job related documentation. Logging required information in Epicor (Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) System).
  • General Housekeeping in assigned work areas, evaluate and participate in lean opportunities
  • Employees must be able to read and understand drawings, work instructions and applicable specifications.
  • Complete review of all procedures related to your job per "HR LG 01 Training Matrix"
  • Completion within time stated of all training required by Job Description in "HR LG 01 Training Matrix"

Requirements
MINIMUM EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES:
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Capable of reading and interpreting meters, gauges, charts, and a variety of instruments
  • Experience with or Certification of soldering to IPC J-STD-001 with the Space Addendum, IPC-A-610 and IPC/WHMA-A-620 Modules 1 and 2 is desired. Training can / will be provided to otherwise qualified candidates.
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work without direct supervision.
  • Meticulous attention to detail. The products produced under this position are all aerospace related. Quality and compliance is critical at all phases of production.
  • Well organized and strong verbal communication skills

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • The performance of this position will require exposure to the manufacturing areas where all areas require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, hearing protection, steel toe shoes, and other mandatory safety equipment.
  • For the most part, ambient temperatures with typical plant lighting and manufacturing equipment are present throughout the facility.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Sit or stand as needed.
  • Walking primarily on a level surface for periodic periods throughout the day.
  • Reaching above shoulder height, below the waist, or lifting as required to reach documents or store materials throughout the workday.
  • Proper lifting techniques required.
  • Ability and comfortability to work in small confine spaces while following proper safety protocol.
  • Ability to accomplish the physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
