Job description

Substation Engineer - Electric Utility
 

We are looking for a full-time Substation Engineer. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of FACTS, design, and TRANSMISSION SUBSTATION. Experience working in a utility environment is preferred.

The primary responsibility of the Substation Engineer will be to design, install, and maintain substations. This includes the design of substation layouts, the selection of equipment, and the installation and testing of substation equipment. The Substation Engineer will also be responsible for the maintenance of substation equipment, including preventive maintenance and troubleshooting.

The Substation Engineer will work closely with other engineers, technicians, and construction crews. The Substation Engineer will also be required to work independently and to meet deadlines.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in substation design, installation, and maintenance
  • Strong understanding of FACTS, design, and transmission substation
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
